Australia’s biggest online literacy competition is just around the corner, with half a million students expected to compete in Word Mania 2018.
This word-building competition is free for all schools in Australia and New Zealand to play, and open to students from Year 1 to 9.
If you haven’t already, now’s the time to register your students for Round 1 of the competition which is set to commence on Monday, July 30, for your chance to win a share in $350,000 in prizes.
How do I register for Word Mania 2018?
To get involved and access LiteracyPlanet for the first time, register for Word Mania 2018.
If your school is a LiteracyPlanet school, students with logins can play by clicking on the Word Mania icon, or through the Word Mania 2018 app.
When does it start?
Practise rounds for Word Mania 2018 are already underway, but here are some key dates you should know about:
Competition Round 1 – Monday, July 30 to Friday, August 3.
Competition Round 2 – Monday, August 6 to Friday, August 10.
Final Round – Wednesday, August 15 to Friday, August 17.
What can my school win?
Word Mania 2018 has more than $350,000 in prizes up for grabs. Your region’s and year level’s highest performing schools will receive personalised certificates and prizes at the end of each round (for participation) also awards for skill across the whole competition once both rounds are done and dusted.
Prizes your school can win include certificates, subscriptions, robots, 3D printers, trophies, vouchers and a range of useful school resources.
